LINKING IDEAS

What's a hybrid?

In 2009/2010 we were doing research in class on "hybrid". Of course, if you hear the word hybrid
you get some ideas about it. But to define what a hybrid really is, is not that easy anymore.
Christoph Kronenberg and Mika Yamuuchi from Japan and I made our research as a group and
created a dictionary were we put in all the experience we had. In the end each of us also created
a visual solution based on our knowlege.

Hybrids are crossings, bundlings and mixings. In the hybridization process, characteristics of each
input become defined and can be linked in three different ways. LINKING IDEAS is a poster series
of three screen prints of the different hybridization processes showing which way inputs can be combined. It is a guide to organize ideas and find new solutions.
